After much consideration I guess it's time I finally write something down. I'm well known for being a lazy arse and as such I couldn't be bothered to actually use the new profile pages, but seeing as I have nothing better to do at the moment I might as well kill some time by writing a little.
As of tomorrow I'll be a student again. After high school I took a year off because I didn't really know what study I wanted to take and I wanted to do something exciting before I did another 5 years of hard studying and constant beer drinking. So I planned to do volunteering work with one of my mates somewhere on the other side of the world. We were planning to go to Costa Rica to save turtle babies (I kid you not). Only the price tag of 4000 euros seemed a bit extreme, plus we thought spending the night at the beach throwing little turtles in the ocean would get a bit boring after 6 months.
So we did what every decision-less person of our age did (or seems to do): Going to Australia to travel around for a bit. In the 6 months I've spent there I've seen and done more than I 'd ever done in my life. Had a lot of great times, few bad times, nearly died a couple of times, did some really sick things in New-Zealand including one of the highest bungy jumps in the world (not my video) and taking one of the most beautiful parachute jumps on the planet (jumped out of a plane above a glacier), and I've seen some of the most beautiful bits earth has to offer (the Great Barrier Reef, Abel Tasman National Park, I did some whale spotting etc. etc.). I made a lot of friends and a few enemies. Being away from home for so long does make you realize how much you really need your family and friends.
After I got back home I still really didn't know what study I wanted to take. It was either going to be something multimedia and design related or something IT-ish. Unfortunately where I live multimedia and design courses aren't course you can take on a university. So I had to make the hard decision whether I wanted to do something that I love doing (designing stuff) or a course that would give me a better shot at a job (and a higher pay). In the end I decided to do the Information Technology study, which is also something I enjoy doing. I plan to continue messing around with Flash as a hobby, hopefully one day I'll be good enough to make some money with it (if only I didn't have the attention span of a gold fish).
I ordered a new iMac a couple of weeks ago, because I need a computer for my study. It arrived last week and I must say it is the most sexiest thing that has ever graced my room except for yours truly (it also works like a charm, but as a mac person that is obviously not something I care about...). All I need now is a Wacom or a cheaper alternative (which are hard to find) and a Macbook which I'll probably order next week and I'll be all set to go. I hope I can finally get some work done now that I've got my own computer. All my animations so far a rushed pieces of shite if you ask me. I've probably got a dozen of unfinished projects on my hard-drive that are screaming to be finished. I hope to get a few (or at least one) of the done before winter.
Ah, V for Vendetta is on, time to go.
Speaking of which I heard Larry Wachowski got a sex change... I hope being a woman won't affect his movie making skills...
