It's been a while since the last update, I've been crazy busy with all sorts of stuff lately... I still managed to squeeze some hours into game development though. The major updates in this new video are:
- Upgradeable objects: There will be more objects than cd-racks and registers in the final version, all will have different functions and every one of them will be upgradeable. Implementing this bit took a lot of time as I had to rewrite huge chunks of code, but I think it will pay off in the end.
- Multiple properties: Right now there are four different shops you can rent (there might be more in the final version, I'm not sure yet). Shops will vary in size and customer preferences. They also differ in daily rental costs.
- Multiple music genres. In the previous version you could only buy one type of cd's, now there are 5 genres you can choose from. The idea behind this is that you have to figure out the best product mix to get as many sales as you can. Every customer has a unique taste in music, depending on the area you're in, and dynamic events such as concerts being held in town. For the next update I'm going to get the 'news' section up and running, this is where the player will be informed of these kind of events.
- Some UI/graphics upgrades.
As always, nothing what you see in the video is finalized, I still have a lot of work to do, so don't mind the looks too much.

looks good man, there should be a mode where you pick a genre and have to sruvive with just it.
and another mode which is sandbox.

I still have to work out what kind of modes I'm going to put in the game. Most likely I'll just go with the 'see how far you can get in x days' type, but we'll see if I can get squeeze some other types in there.
